A Construction Firm

In 2005, the telecom director of a service firm in the commercial explosives industry, David*, hired a large telecom expense management (TEM) company to manage their wireless devices. David and his team had been tracking all the mobile devices on an Excel spreadsheet. Tracking 1200+ phones with a spreadsheet proved to be cumbersome. This TEM agreed that its product would eliminate the spreadsheet and provide them with the much-needed management reports. An Accounting Firm

The telecom manager, Chris*, had a big problem. The firm had about 20 mobile accounts across several carriers. In additions, many of the firm's partners had their own phones that the firm reimbursed. Some of these partners redirect their mobile invoices to the firm so they can be paid directly. Therefore, each month, Chris had to review over 40 mobile invoices and submit them to Accounts Payable, who would then write a separate check for each invoice. When the checks were not sent out on time, the partners' phones will be shut off.
